| Project Detail | Today, Haikou Port is a significant trade hub for the Beibu Gulf Economic Belt and even the South China Sea, and a distribution center for products, information, capital, technologies and other resources. However, the facilities are backward, and capacity is fully used or even overloaded. This project aims to address these structural issues. Over the years, the insufficiency of deep-water berth, the lack of big container berth and the inability to dock the large international cruise seriously held back the economy in Haikou and even the whole province. The Phase II of Haikou Port is the first major project since three local ports have been consolidated and transferred to Haikou for management. With this project, international cruises can dock in Haikou, the cargo handling capacity is largely boosted, and the economy in Haikou or even Hainan is effectively promoted. |
